Steve
Since there's been no death defying horror stories to tell I have once again become a blog flake. Over the past month I've spent most of my time chipping away at things that I want to make sure are ready for the trip up Baja. I had an unexpected problem with a leak in my fuel tank (pic), always nice to come home to a boat full of diesel fumes and diesel in the bilge. Once again the good lord was watching out for me. Yes, as much of a pain in the ass (not to mention the expense) this was, it would have been a real nightmare had it happened half way up Baja. So the fuel tank is fixed, and now I'm waiting for two new batteries to arrive from San Diego, which will hopefully be today or tomorrow. I also am waiting for my new temporary resident card which should arrive from Mexico City next week.
I have a couple, Stan & Judy, from Canada that arrived mid month to crew and so far we haven't even been able to go out for a day sail. Stan and Judy have taken a week and a half road trip to Mexico City and will be back tomorrow morning. Hopefully we'll be able to get out this weekend for a sail and by next week at this time we will be on our way north ending up in the Cabo San Lucas area.
I am excited to get going and am definitely ready to get back home to San Diego, first thing on the to do list will be to buy a car....not that I don't love taking the Mexican buses.
