The Baja bash; part 2

29 March 2013 | Ensenada
Steve
Last night we arrived in Ensenada and are now tied up to a dock in the beautiful Marina Coral.
While I have not technically completed the "Baja bash" just yet.....it is for all practical purposes pretty well done, San Diego is now a 65-70 NM, 14 hour sail away.
So far the "bash" has taken just under two weeks including 1 stop for rest and weather, and two stops for fuel and provisions. By being patient and waiting for weather windows we managed not to see any winds over 20 knots or seas over 6-8 feet. There were plenty of times that Si Bon was tossed and slammed about. There were plenty of times that both Pete and myself looked at each other and thought "what the hell are we doing out here". Although long and tedious, overall the bash has not been that difficult. Our biggest complaint was how freaking cold it was. Pete, whom 3 weeks ago I didn't even know, turned into a fine crew member, He is in the process of purchasing a boat and the experience was in his own words " a valueable experience". We saw tons of whales who were also making their way north, we saw very few (virtually no) other boats, and we had a bright moon most nights.
I am will be staying at the resort & marina Coral for at least 2-3 weeks before finishing up the last 70 NM leg.....anyone want to join me?
