To Go Or Not To Go...
05 December 2013 | Rodney Bay, St. Lucia
Lynn
We arrived in Rodney Bay a couple of days ago. In the meantime, I have developed a cold, we realised that the repair job on the dinghy was not 100%, and that the "Christmas Trades" are going to be starting up with a vengeance soon, without much let up for the next couple of weeks.
Hmmm, so where do we want to be "stuck"... an English speaking island with excellent shopping possibilities and a couple of anchorages, or a French speaking island (Martinique) with a couple of protected anchorages and even better shopping?
Tomorrow I will be checking out with Customs and we are going to make that massive jaunt north to Martinique. We are hoping we can get to St. Anne, but if the wind doesn't work in our favour, we will "settle" for Grand Anse d'Arlet, which is one of Ken's favourite areas. Either way, we will be fine.
Off to dinner on a friend's boat, then an early morning for a run, checking out and heading the 20-25 nautical miles north. Piece of cake!
And as always, our plans are written in the sand... at the low tide mark.
Rodney Bay will be here when we come back south, or we can pop back down when there is a break in the Christmas Trades, if we so choose.
