Mazatlan

12 April 2011 | Marina El Cid
Connie
We arrived in Mazatlan at Marina El Cid last Tues. April 6. Our good friends Steve and Pam from Barramundi were waiting to help us tie up. They are on the same dock with us and also some other good friends, Duane and Chris, are on the same dock with us. I've gotten behind in writing our blogs, so after finishing this blog about Mazatlan, I'll write about our travels between La Cruz and Mazatlan. We had a good passage from San Blas to Mazatlan. We had good wind, 12-20 knots, and were able to sail all day until early evening when the wind died down, then we turned on the motor and motored all night. We arrived around 8 a.m. in pea-soup thick fog. Luckily the fog started lifting just as we got close to the entrance to the marina. We've spent the last week doing a variety of things like: exploring the area, getting together with friends, and relaxing around the pool. We also had to get a new camera because ours died when we got here. We were here at El Cid Hotel and marina many years ago when Ed raced here on our friends' boat, Pendragon. So, it's nice to be here again after all these years. There's a very nice pool with waterfalls and under the waterfalls are caves and passageways to another pool. Very cool!
