Tonight we held the first planning meeting for the Baja Ha-Ha over pizza and wine. The cruise plan is for Sirocco to sail to Cabo with the Baja Ha-Ha rally and then go further into Mexico. Mike and Bill will jump off in Cabo and everyone else will continue on, some for 3 months. Lee and Cathy plan to return home in late January.

Watch schedules, remaining boat preparations, and sail plans were discussed. We decided to have a formal watch schedule at all times with 2 on watch in 3 hour shifts at night and 4 hour shifts during the day. A man overboard drill is scheduled for Sunday.

Man overboard notes:

We spent about 3 hours on the water going over different MOB drills based on different conditions. The crew changed positions multiple times so everyone understood their role depending if they were below deck sleeping or relaxing or on deck driving or trimming. We practiced drills going upwind under jib and downwind under spinnaker. The crew almost had a real live drill when the stern lifeline gate accidentally opened while Cathy was attempting to launch the MOB pole.
