Leaving Isla Isabella, November 13th
13 November 2009
We couldn't find our watches and no one knew what day it is. We had to fire up the laptop, only to discover it's Friday the 13th. I guess we shouldn't be pursing any adventure today that could result in injury or death.
We left Isla Isabella about an hour ago and are heading either to Punta Mita or La Cruz. Isla Isabella was almost like an archipelago. The booby birds were amazing. You could see them pair off; each couple would mimic the other's movements. I explored the beach and found some beautiful seashells and coral and the guys went exploring the little village that houses the sealife sanctuary. Apparently the locals weren't very friendly. Two other Baja Ha-Ha boats arrived; one anchored in the south cove and the other next to us on the east side. The boat in the south cove had their anchor chain wrapped around a large rock. I hoped they don't have problems when they try to leave. The boat is a Beneteau 36s7, similar to Jeff's boat, and they came down from Washington State. It only took them 5 days to get to San Francisco Bay. They must of been flying. Their plan is to go to Tahiti in March. .
Dave and Bob went snorkeling and said it was an amazing aquarium beneath the surface.
We had fish vera cruz for dinner last night. Wow, at this rate we will only need to restock our dry goods. We've been catching enough fish to keep our meats well stocked. Last night was clean the refrigerator night and we stumbled across some more of Judy's breads. We ate them this morning for breakfast which was a nice treat. Everyone got a much needed good night's sleep last night. I'm hoping we have no more night crossings. I just can't seem to fall asleep when I am off watch.
Mike, the twins are doing great. We made about 10 gallons of water yesterday without taking down the batteries. We've only had to use the engine at anchor to charge the refrigerator.
