Sirocco Leaves for Cabo

15 January 2010 | Nueva Vallarta
Les and John left for Cabo aboard Sirocco about 90 minutes ago. They had a wild send off. A mini cyclone hit Banderas Bay just as we were doing the last preparations at 8:00am. We had heavy rain at Paradise Village but La Cruz was hit with high winds and seas. Three channel markers dragged at the entrance of La Cruz and a lot of boats at anchor were trying to move into the marina. It sounded pretty wild on the radio. We're hoping that's all the weather Les and John will see on their passage north. The forecast is for S/SW winds today so they should get a good push north.

It was sad to see Sirocco leave the dock without us aboard but we know she's in good hands for her journey home. She really is a great boat and has been a wonderful home for us for the past three months.
