It's All Good
17 November 2010 | La Paz
Everything's fixed on Sirocco. The compressor bracket is re-welded, the O-ring replaced on the watermaker, the coolant leak located and repaired, all the fresh water leaks located and repaired, and the headsail re-stitched. Lee remarked that Sirocco is in better shape now than when we left Oceanside.
We also decided to splurge and sign up with the Mexican internet broadband service offered by Telcel called Ancha Banda. Actually the rates are pretty decent. The 3g USB modem and first month of service is about $75. Each 30-day block of service is then $40. No contract commitment. You just buy blocks of time, 1-7 days, 15 days, and 30 days. And it's fast. Faster than our internet connection at home. We met some cruisers last year that used the service and reported they could get internet at just about all the anchorages. We are very pleased with the service so far.
We will leave La Paz for Isla Espiritu Santos on Friday. We will spend a couple of nights on the island and then head back south to Los Muertos as a jump off point for the southern crossing to the mainland.
