Matanchen Bay to Punta Mita

10 December 2010
Pacifico rejoined the fleet yesterday and we all had a potluck spaghetti dinner aboard Sirocco in Matanchen Bay. The wind had kicked up a bit in the afternoon and we were concerned that our guests would get soaked aboard their dinghies but the wind gods were in our favor and by dinner the seas were flat. The group almost finished off a box of wine, which is equivalent to 4 bottles. Geez!

In spite of the wine, Sirocco and So Inclined pulled up anchor at 7:30am and headed south for Punta Mita which is in the northern tip of Banderas Bay. We had 3 different whale sightings, one which was about 2 boat lengths off our stern quarter. Sirocco arrived at around 3:00pm and enjoyed a beautiful sunset complete with surfers in the foreground at Punta Mita. It just doesn't get any better than this.
