Yelapa
04 January 2011 | Banderas Bay
This morning we left La Cruz to cross the bay to Yelapa. Even though we told the crew we were leaving early (7:30am, which really isn't that early), only Lee's son woke up to help us depart. So much for having extra crew. Oh well. We actually sailed part of the way and saw whales again.
Only one other boat was in Yelapa when we arrived. Everyone but me went ashore to explore the village. I stayed onboard to rest my back and cook Lee a belated birthday cake, chocolate with chocolate frosting of course. Lee, Cooper, and Steven hiked up to the waterfall while Marty and Jean stayed at the beach. They all had a good time.
Between the snoring and the swell coming into the anchorage, sleeping was a little tough. Cooper invented a Snoring Relief Stick (SRS). Cooper and his dad are sleeping on the settees in the main salon. When his dad starts snoring, Cooper reaches across the cabin and pokes him with a sail battan which wakes his dad up briefly and temporaryily stops the snoring. Cooper doesn't even have to get out of bed to wake up his dad.
