Socializing at the Social Club

24 January 2011
Pacifico had planned to leave Las Hadas today to go further south to Zihuantenejo. Both So Inclined and Sirocco will stay around the Santiago/Barra/Tenacatita area for the next few weeks and then we will all meet again in Banderas Bay in early March. But when a group of us decided to visit the "Social Club" in Manzanillo this afternoon, Pacifico delayed its plan by a day.

The Social Club offers free appetizers that included potato salad, ceviche, guacamole, and others all day while you drink. The appetizers were great and we made sure the bar recovered its food costs by drinking plenty of beer.

And speaking of socializing, we have really enjoyed catching up with boats that we have met since our trip began in October here in Santiago and Las Hadas. Some of the boats like Liberty and Serenity we met in Oceanside as they were going to San Diego for the Ha-Ha. A couple others like Camelot and Barramundi who we met during the Ha-Ha. And other boats like Capricio who was our slip neighbor in Mazatlan and Blue Rodeo who we met in Barra and is an adopted member of the OYC fleet. (I guess we should check with the OYC Bridge on that, are we allowed to adopt boats while we are cruising?) Then of course we have Dave and Marisa on Pacifico and Mike on So Inclined who are great friends and have been great fun. There's never a dull moment with this crowd. The cruising community is truly what you read and hear about. Everyone is very friendly and ready to jump in to give you a hand if you need it.

The bus trip home included a stop at the chicken rotesserie place (this was our third trip!) to pick up dinner.
