Last Day in Mainland Mexico and a New Grandaughter!
16 April 2011 | Mazatlan
We arrived in Mazatlan Thursday morning. No problems during the trip but we were all tired. By the time we took our naps and checked into the harbormaster's office, our friends from Pacifico and Blue Rodeo had arrived back from Copper Canyon. It sounds like they had a great time.
When we caught up with our voicemail and emails, we found out Ashlee (Lee's daughter) had a baby girl on Tuesday night. It was a home birth. No problems at all and everyone is healthy. No name yet.
Tomorrow morning we leave for Baja so today is our last day on the mainland. It looks like it will be a mass exodus from Mazatlan. The three Oceanside boats are leaving as well as our friends on Blue Rodeo and Swift Current. The conditions look fairly mild so it should be an uneventful crossing. It is 190 miles to the anchorage at Los Muertos so we should arrive sometime Monday morning.
