Back to the Islands

Last night we had a corumel of 25-30 knots blow all night from 10:00pm to 4:00am. The fetch wasn't bad but the wind was noisy. I really like our delta anchor! It feels very solid in these blows. We thought we were far enough north to avoid the corumels but apparently not. We are currently on our way to Bahia Salinas on Isla Carmen. Our fishing has become pretty successful lately but it's been all bonita. Two hits within the first hour of sailing this morning. It's been giving us practice bringing in fish while under sail. We make a pretty good team: 1) Bob reels in the fish; 2) Cathy furls the jib and watches the mainsail; 3) Auto drives the boat; 4) Lee graps the fish with the gaff hook; 5) Bob removes the hook; and 6) Lee releases the fish. The two bonita were released back into the water uninjured.
The sailing has been fantastic for our last few passages. We have become sailing snobs. This means we pick anchorages we can sail to. If there is no wind or it's in the wrong direction, we go somewhere else. I personally think that's the way it should be. We were sailing behind Isla Carmen this morning, doing about 6-7 knots in 10 knots of breeze and there was a sailboat parallel to us who didn't even have a main raised! I don't get it. Especially with the price of diesel these days.
