Catching Up With Friends
22 May 2011 | Agua Verde

After spending a couple of days with So Inclined and Pacifico in Puerto Escondido, Sirocco headed back south to Agua Verde. So Inclined and Pacifico when north. Agua Verde means "turqoise water" and that it is. There were about 10 boats in the small anchorage, most of which we have met somewhere along the way. Our friends on Blue Rodeo and Swift Current were there too. An impromptu cocktail hour on the beach was organized which allowed us to catch up on news with everyone.
Wednesday morning a group went diving at the pinnacle located at the entrance of the anchorage. I volunteered to sit in the dinghy and keep an eye out in case anyone got into trouble with the strong current. No one did and everyone seemed to have a good time.
Thursday morning we went ashore to the small village. The main business in the village is a goat dairy. We bought some goat cheese which is great for salads and quesadillas. After the trip into town Lee and I went snorkeling in the clear turquoise water. The water temp is still in the mid-70's which can be tolerated for about 30 minutes. We saw rays and all kinds of larger fish.
This morning everyone was on the move with most of the group heading north to Puerto Escondido. We will continue south.
