Time to Get Outta Dodge
08 June 2011 | Between La Paz and San Jose Del Cabo
With tropical storm "Adrian" on a track to the Sea of Cortez, we decided its time to start heading back home to Oceanside. At first it appeared that the tropical storm was headed west but now it appears to be attracted to the warm waters of the Sea. It is very unusual for a tropical storm event to come up to the sea this early in the season. Just our luck. We are currently on the way to San Jose Del Cabo where we will meet up with Les George, our delivery skipper. Les was originally scheduled to help bring the boat back in a couple of weeks but this storm has accelerated our plans. Les was generous to cancel all his plans and activities to hurry down here and help us. Our hope is that the storm will shy away from the colder waters of the Pacific. We might start "bashing" as early as Friday, depending on the weather. The good news is that the outside of the baja peninisula seems to be settling down (lighter winds and waves) which should give us a good weather window, if the storm behaves itself and stays in warmer waters.
