In February on 2005, we wanted to escape a below-zero temperature weekend in hometown Buffalo, New York. Having never even discussed boating or wanting to even own a boat, we headed to the Miami Boat Show, presumably to get new topsiders. [...]By April of 2007 we were on a plane to Cape Town South Africa to oversee final construction of our Admiral 40 ft. catamaran named Siyasinana, a zulu expression for "let's dance together". After 3 months in RSA, she was launched, tested, provisioned and cast off for our first real ocean sailing test....a non stop 8100 nm journey direct to Annapolis Md. where hull # 1 Siyasinana was to be the boat show boat at the 2007 Annapolis Boat Show.. We had the journey of a lifetime, made the cover of Cruising World magazine and she was nominated "Boat of the Year". Wow. What a maiden voyage. Married on the day after Christmas 2003, Gary and Lisa had done a little sailing on Lake Erie in "KYPU", a 26ft. Contessa with no navigation equipment and a broken engine. They now live aboard and cruise extensively on Siyasinana in the company of dog "George". Captain Lisa is now a licensed USCG [...]

Captain, a skilled sailor, diesel mechanic, IT comptroller, marine electrician, energy consumption advisor and a weight loss health coach with a growing list of slimming clients. Gary, a real estate developer since 1978, is a Captain as well, is the number one helper, good at the helm and likes to read the weather, the water and all things spacial. Gary is fortunate to have such a sailor as a mate.
