Greek Road Trip

31 March 2016 | Aegina Island, Greece
Heather
We rented a car for two weeks and toured around mainland Greece to see the lay of the land and it was a really great time overall. The car was, get this: $7.50US/day and it was brand new! We focused on seeing some of the famous ancient sites like Olympia, where the Olympics were born, & Delphi which is perched on the side of a mountain range. Then the ancient monasteries of Meteora. We also zeroed in on places for hiking such as the Mani & Pelion Peninsulas. And along the way, we saw a lot of the countryside. Here are some pics of what we saw.

We left Lavrio this morning and headed 35 miles around the tip of the Attica Peninsula to an island called Aegina, where we hauled out and so are now sitting on the hard waiting to head back to the US in a few days for a visit. Not our favorite way to live, but we do have a new island to explore!
