We got home a few days ago and have been busy getting settled back into the condo and working on Smart Move. The kitties did not like being boarded and were happy to see us. However, the Petsmart Pet Hotel took excellent care of them and were really very graceful when they described Chloe as shy rather than the Devil's Span!
Right now we are watching the weather, a low pressure system in the eastern Caribbean has been upgraded to Tropical Storm Rafael. It is predicted to pass right over the Virgin Islands (40 miles away) with the furthest bands of the storm radiating out 150 miles. We are currently under a Tropical Storm Watch. Our hope is that it passes quickly before it become something more. I do not think we will be sleeping well tonight, as we have set alarms for every two hours to check the weather! We just need to make sure Smart Move is secured as best as possible for the changing conditions. The original plan was to take Smart Move back to the BVIs and Conch if there was a threatening 'named' storm. However, this developed too quickly and that is not an option now. If the storm path stays as projected, we will just get a brush-by.
We had a great time in Annapolis, the boat shown was a lot of fun and the savings the vendors offered saved us a lot of money on things we deemed as essential for Smart Move. The best part is most of them would ship to Puerto Rico without much of an upcharge!
Work is going slower than anticipated and we are now spending the month of November here. We will be staying in a different condo as this one is rented out. The mast and standing rigging are still in process andd our haul out was supposed to be on Monday, but with the weather -- we will see.
We have had internett problems at the condo so I was unable to post any pictures this time, sorry. We will keep everyone posted.
