We have just returned to Grenada after a wonderful three week trip back to the States to see family and friends. All of the grandkids are growing like weeds and just getting cuter and cuter. We had a great time visiting with every one.
Thanks to Sherri (my sister-in-law), who flew back to Grenada with us for a week of fun in the sun, we are staying in style at the La Phare Bleu Resort & Marina. Smart Move is hanging out in the marina here as well while we are living in style in one of the villas here.
La Phare Bleu is a boutique hotel on the south shore of Grenada located in Calivigny Bay. This beautiful small beachfront hotel offers high quality beach villas. We are staying in the Garden Villa which is a two bedroom unit with it's own private pool. The villa was designed around the pool, the common spaces (living room, kitchen, and dining room) are all open to the pool and the deck which extends the width of the villa. The bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms flank either side of the pool. Of course the view of Calivigny Bay is fantastic. The staff is really friendly and have gone the extra mile to make sure we are having a great time and our every need is met. There on two restaurant here the Deck (located by the pool) and where we congregate for happy hour, and the Vastra Banken an old lighthouse ship that has been converted into a restaurant and shower facilities for the marina. The amenities here also include a very nice pool, beach bar, mini market, and hobie cats and kayaks for the guests use.
The pool in our villa,
The living room,
The kitchen and dining room,
Our bedroom and bath,
Sherri's room was really similar but had two double beds in it and it made it really hard to photograph. Her bathroom only had a single sink since it was right next to a guest half bath that took up the space.
Thanks Sherri for sharing this wonderful villa with us! We love you!
We are going to start some serious sightseeing of Grenada tomorrow with a visit by local bus to the capitol of Grenada, St. George's. On Sunday are going to go on a historical tour of the Island. Then we will finish Sherri's visit by dragging her to a number of cruiser functions!
