Petite St. Vincent or PSV as everyone calls it is one of those places that the average Joe probably doesn't even know exists - well, unless you follow 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' they probably know about it. The whole island is private and has an uber exclusive resort on it. Lucky for cruisers like us they have recently added a dinghy dock and a modestly, alright expensive by our standards, priced restaurant and bar.
The island was just beautiful and we couldn't resist the urge to go ashore. Colin and Izzi on s/v Endorphin joined us and we collectively drug Gary from s/v Mai Tai along with us - Marie was more than happy to go! The drinks weren't cheap (by Grenada standards) and we thought Gary might have heart failure paying $7 EC (the equivalent of $2.60 US) for a bottle of locally brewed beer Hairoun. To be fair, the bottles are only 10.6 ounces, so Gary wasn't getting the full 12 ounces he is use to, lol! Barry and I were the only ones to eat dinner. We both ended up ordering the lobster wraps, at $60 EC ($22.25 US) it was a gastronomical bargain!
That is s/v Mai Tai in the background.
s/v Endorphin is in the background.
The gremlins in our windlass have been following us around since St. Barts. While we were in Grenada, Barry took the entire motor and gear box apart. He could find nothing that was definitively wrong, so he cleaned everything and put it back together. When things were still not working quite right, we decided to replace the gypsy since the new chain we bought in St. Martin seemed to be slipping. We had no trouble setting the anchor. Let me say we love our new 55-pound stainless steel Spade anchor! However, the next day as we were preparing to set sail for Union Island the gremlins were back!
