Miserable Ride To Isla Isabella

Saturday April 24 and departure time is 8:00 am. Russ is up to try and get Don's weather off the single side band radio. Third day called at 7:50 am and said they were about ready to pull up anchor. We thought we would be behind them about a half hour, in actually reality it was an hour. The morning started our pretty nice. The seas are three to four feet and the wind about ten knots. We had wind to sail with except it was in the direction we were going. The engine is on and the jib rolled out and the main had two reefs in. We are motor sailing. The wind picked up to about 17 knots and the seas are five and six foot. We caught up with Third Day and passed them. I got sea sick and took some meds. I took a nap waiting for the meds to kick in. We reefed the jib to make a more comfortable ride. When we were about six miles out we rolled the jib up and motored into the choppy swell. If we had not done this we would not make it to anchor. At about three miles out Lazy Days called us on the radio and gave us information about where they were anchored in the east anchorage. We rolled and pitched violently. Russ made me two slices of bread with peanut butter, which is what I asked him for. You see I am not cooking tonight. I lay down and Russ put a movie in. Being able to lay down is the key. This leg of the trip was doable, however not fun. Third Day made it in and anchored about 10:00 pm. Miserable Trip.
