CAPTAIN SNOWDRIFT SAILING RESUME

24 September 2023
In July 1992, took CYA White Sail with son Terry and passed White Sail III. Did only occasional sailing until August 2001 when we bought a used Tanzer 16. Since then have done quite a bit of weekend sailing with son Terry and other interested family members and some friends.
In June 2003, Terry and myself took Basic Cruising with Wolfe Smythe out of Gimli, Manitoba, on Lake Winnipeg.  The boat was a Niagara 26.
In July 2004, Terry and myself and daughter Tareena took Intermediate Cruising with George Bush out of Sydney, B.C. The boat was a Hunter Legend 375.
In April 2006, took the PCOC course and passed the test, and have had the card since then.
In April to June 2008, I took Celestial Navigation with Davis Daycock in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
In March to May 2009, Tareena and myself took Coastal Navigation with Davis Daycock in Winnipeg Manitoba.
In May 2009, took the ROC(M) Course and passed the test, and have had the card since then.
In Spring/Summer of  2009 Son Terry and I took the CYA Advanced/Offshore Cruising Course with Cooper Boating out of Vancouver, BC. The boat was a Valiant 40. We sailed non stop day and night for 3 days as part of the course. We were at times well offshore. I believe our instructor was Jim Levers. The entire course took 7 days. We passed the practical part of the course. Sadly, we never got around to finishing the written part of the course, and so have no proof of qualifications..
