We must be in Cabo

05 November 2010 | 22 53.1'N:109 54.6'W, Cabo
Well we got in yesterday about 1500 alive and well. The last leg was mostly light and motor sail--until the last part. There was an unusual east wind blowing 20-30 knots which hit us right on the nose after rounding Cabo Falso. It took us about three hours to go another 8 mile into wind swept seas before we could turn into Cabo. Nothing bad--just VERY slow.

Got to unwind at Squid Row last night. This morning was mostly frustrating. Maybe a bit of an emotional shift from having completed the roughly 800 mile trip successfully, maybe just adjusting to Mexico, or more likely adjusting to Cabo.

A slips in Cabo with the 25% Ha Ha discount are over $100 a night. That got us a raft up three deep last night. We were able to move this morning but hard to explain its taken all morning to get power for the boat and I still do not have the internet access working (this blog is being sent out via sat phone). So...I still have lot of e-mail catching up to do hopefully later today or tomorrow.

Manfred just returned and reports that it took him four hours to do one load of laundry and it is hot out. Although he is doing better than me because he says he spent the time among beautiful women "helping" him.

Job for today: Move off Gringo time and get going with the local flow.
