Settling In - Having Fun
20 December 2010 | La Cruz
After another day of provisioning and FINALLY getting a banda ancha (TelCel broad band!) we visited the Tres Marietas--a series of islands that are a national wildlife preserve. That trip was a big hit. After seeing whales (one almost too close) on the way there Amanda and Abe sent off to explore the waters around Marieta West. Three hours later they came back with big smiles on their faces and "can we stay?". The anchorage is only good for a day trip so with a promise to try and return we sailed (yes sailed!) home to La Cruz.
After a a down day of lounging around the boat we went out last night with Pacifico and Sirroco to tacos on the street. Pacifico had just arrived and had lots of good stories to tell--and the C monkey was glad to see his friends. (The C monkey was bummed he couldn't go snorkling at the islands but we were afraid he would get eaten--not to mention we weren't sure of his swimming snorkling abilities.)
Today we are setting up our tree and getting ready for Christmas.
We are finally starting to merge the college lifestyle with the cruising life and having lots of fun.
