Day 5 South Atlantic Ocean
02 February 2015
Gina
We have had some very pleasant sailing, which was a pleasure for those of us that tend to get seasick. Paul has been working on the generator each day trying to problem solve the issues. Eventually, it seems it was the fuel filter housing. Even on close inspection he can't see anything wrong with it but we have a spare in place now and fingers crossed... Now all he has to do is fix it so it shuts off by the stop switch, and not use the emergency shut off lever at the injector pump. Something to do for another day. We have had the occasional rain shower but nothing too wet. The weather had been everything from cloudy to nice sunny days and the winds have been from light to moderate, nothing too taxing. So far so good. We are down to the last of the fresh food that we got from St Helena - one tomato, cabbage, carrots, potatoes and onions. We are still trying to eat the freezer down so we BBQ when the sea state allows it (ie: the steak doesn't go flying off and become fish food). Our water maker is being good to us again so showers on the back deck. We spotted 2 fishing boats so far but no other traffic. 2460 miles to go.
