Carriacou, Tyrell Bay
23 December 2015
It was quite a wet, beat ride to Carriacou but we made it in one piece. Now we were anchored in a really calm bay with a waterfront just made for cruisers. A few of the restaurants have made small dinghy docks for the dinghy, we can get duty free fuel and free wifi for the price of a beer. It is always a good way to start the day. It was great place to hang out and wait for weather to sail north. We did intersperse our time with a hike to one of the highest points on the island, which gave us great views around the island and the neighbors. We could make out Grenada in the distance, along with some of the Grenadines. The next few days we concentrated on getting some of the boat chores done and some of the sewing projects finished. We took a local bus to the main town of Hillsborough but it was much as the same as Tyrell Bay, a great-untarnished flavor of the Caribbean.
