Going south again
26 February 2016
Hey Mon - the way to say hello in this part of the world.
We found a great weather window to go south again so left as soon as Emily was at the airport. We overnight sailed to St Bart’s and stopped for a night at Anse De Columbier. We didn’t check in, hoping to just stay for a night then move on. This is one of the best places we enjoyed in the Caribbean. Luck was with us and nobody checked up on us. We left early the next morning for a day sail to Antigua. We managed to sail most of this route with the wind dying in the afternoon. We motored for a few hours and made it just before dark. Unfortunately, my tooth fell apart on our way and I needed an urgent trip to the dentist. I was able to get the name of a dentist from the OCC net and a quick call on the sat phone had me an appointment on our arrival day. We made our way to the officials to wait for them to open up, cleared customs and immigration. Port Authority were late so customs let us go to town anyway and come back tomorrow to complete the procedure. We found a local bus to St John then a taxi to the dentist. After parting with some cash, my mouth certainly felt better. Hope it lasts till I see a dentist either in NZ or US.
