Local fish market.
We decided to do the poor mans local tour of Guadeloupe and caught a local bus to Pointe-a-Pitre, the biggest town on the island. We wandered around this old 1800’s town with a splash of the occasional something to make it seem more modern. It too had a cruise ship waterfront but we gave this a miss and wandered in and around some of the smaller alleyways. It always seems much more interesting. The architecture was a big mix of old, and rundown new, with a twist of Caribbean flavor. The island had a lot of sugarcane so we managed to shop for some local rum. Somehow it always taste good and the price is right.
