Haul out as Sonora heats up!
02 May 2010 | San Carlos, Mexico
Scheduled maintenance work almost completed and going to call it a sailing season and head north as the heat has finally arrived. San Carlos becomes fairly hot in summer and honestly more than I care to endure. Many stay down here year round, have some air-con to help suffer through the really bad days, with minor effect from the heat. Too much for me and I'm not afraid to admit that.
Had Solace hauled out of the B-21 slip in the Marina to Marina Seca work and storage yard where the bottom work will be conducted over the summer. Bottom will be stripped, examined, and two new coats of bottom paint added. Decided to go with new black bottom paint option rather than the current red color. I had driven my Dodge truck down to San Carlos at the beginning of the sailing season and fortunately had friends in San Carlos with a place where I could store the truck there over the summer months. Thanks Carlos!
One hour bus ride to Hermosillo, fight out of Hermosillo to Tucson, then another flight to Sacramento where Maggie picked me up. Summer at Michael and Blair's wine country estate in Sonora, California and up to Canada is the plan. Pic shows Solace being hauled out and on the way to the yard.
