Little Vathi

The morning is clear enough for us to get a walk in.
Just outside the harbour wall is a bay with restaurant and quay. We didn't visit last year, but walk around to check it out to see if it is deep enough for us. The restaurant burnt down earlier this year, and they have done well to rebuild in time to get some summer and autumn trade in. It is also now home base for a charter fleet - that judging by the flags has relocated this year from a Turkish base. We hear that with all the instability in Turkey sailors are staying away in droves.
Some provisioning at Soula's shop (she is a great lady from Newcastle NSW who has been here for 28 years).
The afternoon is perfect for sitting inside reading... i.e. its raining again.
Fines up in time for a G&T on deck, though the forecast is for heavy rain and strong winds again tonight. Dave exposes our guests to his beloved retsina wine. Now the vote tally is 3 against and 1 for. I've already likened it to paint stripper and it is now suggested as a pipe cleaner.
Dinner at another taverna - the Rose Garden. Less cigarette smoking than last night. People are so rude. I make sure the last of my URTI cough is put to use near the table of worst offenders as we leave.
