Canoa

Yesterday we went across the bay to a surfer town called Canoa to check Carnival. It's about a 20 minute ponga ride across the drink then about 45k on a bus.
The beach was PACKED. There were tents set up as far as the eye could see and everyone was either swimming, or had just gotten out of the water and was covering themselves in sand. I don't know about you, sand between the toes is one thing, but purposly putting sand in delicate places is not what I'd call a good time.
We wasted away the afternoon people watching and hopped on a bus to head back to Bahia and grab a bite to eat. My friend Andrew suggested we ride on the bus roof, and why not? It's a holiday for petes sake and everyone else was doing it...
About 5 minutes into the ride I felt a light drizzle. Then it started to pour. It was all "silly us" at first then our busroof buddies became quiet and shortly there after it was quite evident that we had put ourselves in a situation that had the nasty consequence of severe discomfort.
We were all prunes by the time we made it home. I went to movie night at a local hostel, Coco Bongo, that kinda wound up flooding...Who needs to watch a movie when you can sweep street water from a floor covered with skeetchy electrical wires?
Cheers to gettin wet and playing with electricity

P.S.
Right now there's a girl in the rather small internet cafe on a unicycle...Hmmm
