Hi all

26 June 2010
This is a blog of the adventures and fun we have had with our sailboat "Sound of Silence". Please feel free to look around.

The blog entries are sorted by date and time, which means that the first entry is the one at the bottom and the last one is on top.

Enjoy!

No fish for the BBQ tonight!

29 June 2008
The water temperature was 27 degrees Celcius every day.

28 June 2008
You can even see the sunset from the restaurant over San Antonio Bay.

28 June 2008
There is a lovely restaurant along the beach with a garden where you can relax and have a drink before dinner. I ordered a 5 dish cod meny. Everything included cod, even the desert :)

28 June 2008
We arrived in San Antonio and got a nice berth in the guest harbour. Went ashore for a walk and to have dinner.

After a late departure caused by delays in flights we had a pleasent journey over to Ibiza. Boat full of friends this time and everybody looking forward to a great vacation. Michael, Alicia, Anders and Jacob had all taken the trip to Valencia to join Lucía and me for 2 unforgettable weeks sailing around Ibiza and down to Espalmador in Formentera. Quite an international crew as we are from Spain, Norway, Denmark and Germany.

03 May 2008
The next day we went ashore for a walk and the mandatory visit to the museum. We also took the zodiac for a spin around the island. Most of the other boats sailed in the evening, so I guess this is not the best place to stay the night, at least not before summer time when there is likely to be less swell.

02 May 2008
Several other boats arrived the next morning. It was quite a lot of swell all night which was rather annoying as the boat was rolling so much that I had to secure every plate, glass, shaving machine etc in every cabinet as every item were banging from side to side. Not so sure if this is my favorite place!

01 May 2008
This is the old lighthouse which was being restored at the time. The museum is also up there.

Land o'hoy!

01 May 2008
Lucía and me went for a new expedition to the Columbretes Island in May. It was much better weather this time.

Back in Valencia

17 March 2008
Safe back in Valencia, already looking forward to the next trip.

16 March 2008
First time with the gennaker, trying different courses to see how the boat reacts. The Hanse sailboats are made for single handed sailing from the start so it's easy for one person to adjust all the lines. Just perfect!

16 March 2008
But after a while we got a nice little breeze from just the perfect direction to try the gennaker.

On the way back

16 March 2008
The weather improved on the way back and it was sunny but too little wind to sail in the start. Then it's great to have an autopilot!
