This year, the Pacific High was weak and out of position. It's going to be snapping back into place over the weekend and the fleet has been maneuvering to position themselves to take best advantage of it. To the N/W, it may fill in first. To the S, if it settles back into a normal position the gybe angles will be better. We're happy with our speed and hope to be able to work everything out on handicap (the spread of the division in terms of how many days are owed from fastest to slowest is very significant). In some cases, a boat can come in a day later and still correct out ahead, and the weather conditions which are best for the Hendersons are not best for us, etc.
