Bob
(from Bob) Well, now the high is really here. TWS is less than 2kts. And it looks like we will be here for a few days.

I added five gallons of diesel last night after midnight check in. I had to pull the jerry can out of the cockpit that was covering the fill hose, and then maneuver the "last" one tied down to be able to run the siphon into the fill hole. In the dark of night I was not able to position the siphon for optimum draining so there is 1/4 to 1/2 gallon remaining. I will add two more jerry cans after this note and before my 3 PM shift. I expect we will use about 10 gallons a day at 2200 RPMs.

The sky is gray and overcast and big. I saw this big "cloud" this morning on my 6 AM to 9AM shift, and was hoping it had wind in it. Apparently quite different from the cumulus sqall clouds we have been seeing. The water is really flat and smooth.

Last night I had the sunset shift. We had a full main and no jib after trying to sail for an hour earlier in the day. I saw a big squall cloud, but didn't think there could be much in it. Boy was I wrong. We had wind at 22kts for a while and reefed the main to make the boat manageable.

Currently (1:15 PM) Bsp 6 COG 058 AWS 7 AWA 5 (but really all over the place) Main Reeefed and tight to the center line. #2 Jib On deck. Engine 2200 PRM
