Summer 2014 - UK

We left Royal Clarence Marina, Gosport (Portsmouth harbour) on 10th July and headed west. First stop Lymington, probably our favourite Solent port. Book ahead on the Dan Bran pontoon for the best value in the port.
Next stop was meant to be Plymouth but battery problems had us putting into Dartmouth. Colin of Pulse Electronics was very helpful and got us sorted. The Seven Stars pub does good cheap food and wine and the Yacht Club was welcoming. As we left Dartmouth I had problems raising the main which resulted in a us motoring to Plymouth and the Mayflower Marina. The food at Jolly Jacks in the marina was great (as was the table opposite the TV with the World Cup Final on - Carolyn wasn't as pleased!). It turned out that the top few meters of our mast track were damaged and need replacement, of course this can't be done with the mast up! A week later having spent one day removing the mast, half an hour replacing the track and another day to re-step the mast we were fit to sail again. Adrian Hood and the team at Euro Spars were efficient and pleasant in getting us going
