Summer 2014 - France

Left Plymouth on 19th July, good crossing to L'Aberwrach until the last mile or so when the fog came down limiting visibility to a 100 meters. A friendly fisherman offered to guide us in once Carolyn chatted to him (her speaking fluent French helps). Took a mooring bouy @E30.74 and ate at Captains Creperie which was fine.
As we travelled down the coast we also visited:
- Camaret: super pizza's in Le Captain on the sea front
- St Evette: very busy and a windy night at anchor, didn't go ashore
- Concarneau: marina expensive @E58.50 but good shelter and friendly staff. Great old town to wander around. If you are a cat or wide beam watch the entrance channel down to the fuel berth, it seems to vary width with the tide, very tight for us.
Lorient: We berthed at the town centre marina as we had visited Kernevel Marina before. Expensive (E63.00) as are all the Lorient marinas and not in a great area. It is central and there are restaurants if you walk over the bridge but not worth the extra journey up stream.
Prepared for the crossing of Biscay and took on fuel at Kernevel
