Spain Summer 2014 - A Coruna

Left Cedeira on 13th August and headed to A Coruna with a NW force 3 enabling some sailing as our course was now more SW. Entry into A Coruna marina was easy once the Oriana cruise ship had left the port entrance. Helpful staff on the pontoons at Marina Coruna and a large city to explore. Regular outdoor entertainments here on the beaches or in Maria Pita square, we watched spectacular fireworks and a Spanish traditional guitar band amongst others. We walked along the seafront to the Tour de Hecules, great views over the bay but a long queue for entry to the tower so we passed on that. Marina is close to the old town and a good base for wandering about the bars and shops. Expensive, would have been nearly E70 without our discount and the prices quoted for over winter were one of the highest we received.
