Leaving Vigo
12 May 2015 | Marina Davila Sport, Vigo, Spain
Chris

We finally left Marina Davila Sport on Friday 8th May after approx eight months. Being there worked well for us, the marina looked after Splice well, and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. Special mention has to go to Roberto, one of the marineros, who speaks some English and always went out of his way to sort out things for us. The other positives from our point of view were that the marina has 24hr staffing for security, the price quoted was good – Carlos, the manager, treated us as a mono-hull, electric was included and the journey from Santiago was relatively easy by public transport or car. The marina is not really suitable for live-aboard winters, it’s a long way from town and no one else is around and it’s was not great for getting any work done unless you were there to constantly chase. We spent the winter months, having flown out specially to meet engineers, trying to get a couple of solar panels fitted. Despite having paid a deposit (which was refunded) the work never happened before we wanted to leave. Maybe that’s just Spain but we put in quite a lot of effort and emails for no output.
If this set up suits you contact Carlos Gago - e-mail: cgago@davilasport.es Mobile +34671500579- tell him Splice sent you!
