09 June 2015 | Marina Parque De Nacoes - Lisbon
Chris
After the tourist bit we stayed in bed late and spent a quiet morning. Chris did some shopping and we had lunch on board. In the afternoon Alan and Chris started to try and solve the condensation problem with the fridges (they drip water onto the floor regularly) and having pulled the cabinets out found a lack of insulation around some of the refrigerant pipes (as always, the ones at the back almost out of reach). This required some new insulation and the marina advised us on where to go, luckily this was near our intended target, the 'Oceanario'. New 'Armourflex' in hand for the fridge repair we visited the large aquarium, we hadn't been sure if it was worth it but the display is very good. We had seen crowds of schoolchildren there earlier but at 6.30 it was quite quiet and we had 90 minutes to do the tour(you need at least that long). Well worth doing - have you ever seen a 2m Sunfish?
We ate well in a small place on the promenade (Cerveisnario Mestre Doce), pig's liver with garlic gravy for Alan and 'Bitque' (steaks with egg and chips) for us. At E32 for the three of us including beers and a bottle of wine that was great value.
Pic of said Sunfish................no pretty but impressive!
