Back to the boat work

We spent the day on Thursday tidying up and doing the washing and starting to order some of the remaining key items. We’ve been waiting for the local gas guy to quote us to fix our gas alarm- when he informed us it was 400 Euros we’ve ordered one on the net from the UK for about 1/3rd of that. We realised our Log Book was nearly full so ordered via Amazon UK, delivered the next day from Amazon Spain. Oh, and Chris has finally been allowed to order his guitar……..sounds of twanging will be heard from Splice in about 5 days!
The dinghy has deflated again; the soapy water will be out this afternoon to find this new leak. We are getting to the point of thinking the beast may have had its day, it’s about 10 years old which is NRD (normal retirement date) for such an item (either that or Chris believes it has an affinity with the French Air Traffic Controllers!) Tom from Alba Voyager has offered to help Chris install the connection for the back-up GPS in our berth. The cables have been run, just need to free up a switch on the panel by merging two light circuits. This will allow us to run an anchor alarm at night when anchored. Chris and electrical connections are not best friends so assistance is wise!
The ‘To be Done’ list now is: Set up new GPS/reinstall bimini, lazybag and trampoline when delivered/rig check/test outboard/insulate fridge pipe/install new gas alarm/top up dive bottle/various engine checks/teak oil and black mastic for rear steps/new Spanish SIM for data/clean bilges/various bits of gelcoat maintenance/install mainsail and lazybag when bimini back on/and lots of things to clean!!
A bit concerned that all the work we are waiting on and important deliveries (guitar!) may hold us up from leaving around 6th April as planned but time will tell.
