Baie di San Ciprianu

C&C
We left Porto Vecchio after one night even though the weather conditions were not ideal. We poked our bows out of the Gulf to see if a trip south was possible and quickly decided it was possible but not fun so turned around. We were heading back into the gulf when Chris saw some yachts anchored to the north and we went across to investigate. Baie di San Ciprianu is a wide curve of beach to the north of the main Gulf with various power boat, jet ski and windsurf schools on it. Sailors mostly avoid this place as its noisy and irritating but that day, with 25 knots blasting through, there were few motor things about and it was a good place to anchor, loads of space in 4 meters of water and a sandy bottom for good holding.
We had a comfortable day and night there relaxing as the wind whistled in the rigging. The next morning the weather was much nicer and by 10.00 the power guys were out so we left. A good heavy weather anchorage though.
