Another return visit.... we are losing our sense of adventure in order to ensure a TV is available for the last games of the World Cup! Normal service will resume after the final! We now have about two weeks to go before we are due back in Prevesa and a flight back to the UK for a summer break of about three weeks or so. We plan to head off again to the south of this inland sea for this period once the football is over and Chris can concentrate on navigation!
Splice moored near the taverna in Spartakhori, the plank we use to disembark is visible, here balanced on a box they provide!
It's a very pleasant bay here with a nice taverna which has a TV so the Skipper selected this as the 'host berth' for the 3rd/4th playoff and the final. Yesterday Chris watched the England game which was disappointing and today we got up early and did a 5 kilometre walk along the local roads towards Vathi (Meganisi). The most interesting point, other than the great views over the bay, was the number of 'crickets' that were determined to sit in the road despite the vehicles passing and squashing many of them. Any naturalists who can explain that please comment, our best guess is that they enjoy the heat from the tarmac!
The view out over Spartakhori Bay and the gulf during our walk today
After coffee we both had a long swim and some minor boat jobs got partly done as it was getting too hot to work in the sun (33 degrees at present). Even under the shade of the bimini its too bright to see the screen so the blog is being written by a rather hot Skipper inside the cabin where he can see to type!
For some reason Carolyn is prepared to watch the World Cup Final today, it might be because it's France who are playing Croatia or just that she's pleased the World Cup and football are over (Chris hasn't told her that the new Premier League season starts just after we get back to the UK!!)
