Docking and Rocking
04 February 2012 | Rocky Point to Mark's on the Channel
Angela/ perfect 50 degrees, could be a bit more warm, great for Feb!
Ok, so this is the moment that I start to get a bit more cocky. I took hold of the helm after we docked at the gas station (so I'm curious people, is there a sailor term for that?) Gasing up in and of it's self was amusing, could have been bad gas, but no, the motor purrrrred after she was filled. (Dirty little wentch). I put it in neutral and left it drift forward, got clear of the dock then pushed it into forward turning the tiller starboard. We were out for a bit, the channel is rather deep in most areas (guess our trusty chart book would note the depth as well). Finally we neared port side when we were clear of a bunch of floating logs and anchored. Thank god Barb had extra gloves or Autumn and I would have some burn stories to write home about, actually, not write, I doubt we would be able to write for weeks after that infliction. After weight lifting Autumn and I began to head back down the channel. Came in to dock at Mark's, guess I applied just the right amount of speed and compensated for the small amount of wind. Zipped passed the docks and a perfect finish to the starboard side. I need a pat.
