Later: Sitting in the commuter terminal at Houston, waiting for the flight to Pensacola to start. As tends to happen when thousands of astronomers are set loose near a central point, we have been with other astronomers everywhere we have eaten or exercised or been entertained for the last five days (yes, even in a town the size of Seattle).

What was less expected but fun was being in the same row in the plane as two more astronomers we actually knew. The flight attendants were thinking it was prearranged, and a lady traveling with her daughter to college was all excited to be completely surrounded by astronomers (not us; the two other astronomers in our row were on both sides of her). Well, the odds are against that, at most places and times :-)
