Grimsby?!

Another science day, the weather being for the second (and last) day unfavorable for boat waxing... then in the evening we made chili and all watched a Poirot episode which turned out to be one we've been trying to find for years, as it contains one of the most amusing snatches of dialogue:

Innkeeper: Perhaps he was frightened away by the ghosts. Now then, breakfast -- how about a nice kipper, they're fresh today."

Poirot: "My tisane. Two slices of bread, toasted on one side, only, please."

Hastings: "Ghosts, did you say?"

Innkeeper: "Yes. Haunted house. Marsdon Manor. Where he went last night. They say it's full of them."

Poirot: "You have seen them yourself?"

Innkeeper: "Well, no, not personally, I haven't, of course."

Poirot: "How do you know they are fresh?"

Innkeeper: "Sorry?"

Poirot: "The kippers."

Innkeeper: "Oh, ah, they're fresh alright. We get them delivered twice a week from Grimsby."

Poirot: "So it is the place of the untold evil, crawling with the spirits of the living dead?"

Innkeeper: "Grimsby?!"

Tomorrow we restart and with luck complete the waxing the underside of the topsides, and deck prep (for waxing up there as well). We also hope to get bottom paint either tomorrow or the next day. Meanwhile, Grant is completing another round of testing with his Calvert courses.

Yesterday it positively poured. Today the floodwaters are receding a bit.

Vessel Name: Parallax
Vessel Make/Model: 37' Prout Snowgoose (1982)
Hailing Port: Pensacola
Crew: Derek, Heather and Grant
About:
Two astronomers, looking for variable stars and adventure. After cruising the Caribbean aboard S/V Paradox for 18 months in the early 90s, the crew swallowed the anchor and had a child, always planning their next Great Adventure: cruising under sail with Grant, showing him the world. [...]
Extra:
We knew that if we ever got a catamaran, we'd want a name to celebrate her twin-hulledness. Parallax is seeing the same thing from two slightly different points of view, which with our two eyes is what gives humans our depth perception. It's also a good metaphor for one of the benefits of marriage. [...]
