The Baja Bash

Preparing for the Baja Bash (the trip north from Mexico to California). They call it “The Bash” because the prevailing winds and waves are from the northwest. So you are basically going uphill (if that makes any sense).

Hand Surgery

14 August 2015 | Dewey AZ
Pat - Hot
Today is Friday August 14. It's been six weeks since I had surgery on my left hand to fix the Dupytren Contractor there. It's hereditary courtesy of my Welch ancestors.

This is the "before" photo. You can see my pinky finger is bent over about 90, that's as straight as it would go. I've been going to physical therapy 2-3 times per week. Now I have a proper "Karate Chop"! I still have some recovery time to go, as the flexibility and strength are not 100% yet.

Melodie and I have been stocking up on supplies for when we return to the boat in a few weeks. I'm glad we're able to get the stuff we need.....but each item is a project to complete upon our return.

Next week we'll return to the SF Bay Area to attend the 19th annual Snakes to the Lake car club run with the Bay Area Cobra Club. 50 Cobra's will be making the drive to South Lake Tahoe to share in some good driving, good food, and good friends.

We'll also be picking up our life raft from Sal's Inflatables in Alameda, as the certification had expired on the raft. Just another reason for our crazy logistics as a result of our nomadic life style.

Check out the next post for the "after" photo of my hand.
