s/v SummerWind - St. Augustine

The summer wind, came blowin in from across the sea. It lingered there, so warm and fair to walk with me. All summer long, we sang a song and strolled on golden sand - Two sweethearts and the Summer Wind. This song was made famous by Frank Sinatra.

Oceanis 55 Cockpit/Companionway Beds

28 April 2013
One of the nicest features of the new Oceanis 55 are the exterior beds located on each side of the companionway. They are tucked under the dodger and give a place out of the wind and weather for off-watch naps or underway protection from the sun, wind and rain. Normally the cockpit is crowded with people stretched out taking naps. With these protected beds you can have two people sleeping outside in comfort with room for 8 more in the cockpit with another 4 more long the transom bench.

Sailing a Beneteau Oceanis 55

06 April 2013 | West Palm Beach to Jacksonville
Martin
I had the pleasure of sailing a new Beneteau Oceanis 55 on the ocean from West Palm Beach, Florida to Jacksonville beginning on Easter Sunday 2013. The boat is unnamed because it has not been sold yet and will be in the Jacksonville, FL sailboat show held April 12th-14th 2013. It was a joy being on the 55 for about 56 hours on the trip. She is graceful and sailed like a dream. We were able to achieve 10 knots on a broad reach. She will easily motor at 7.5 knots at 2,200 RPMS. I can't wait until April 2014 when I take delivery of SummerWind in St. Gilles Croix-de-vie, France.
