Didim anchorage

Samos to Didim.
Up anchor early for a long days sail. During the coarse of the day the wind veered to the west and made for a fitful sail in 20+ knots. We were to stay at an anchorage a short distance from Didim. It was called Cukurcuk....so say that a few times. The old spell check on the iPad went radio rentals...
Anyway Cukurcuk did afford reasonable protection from the meltimi, but was exposed due to it's low lying land, so we gave it a miss. Instead we anchored in a small bay adjacent to Didim Marina. It was well protected and sand with good holding. Nathan and Chris set up Quack Quack and with Meaghan and Lea went ashore to explore.
After they came back the boys told me the "outboard ran like shit". So, they pulled it apart and on investigation found that the carburettor was partially blocked with rubbish. Some other jets were also blocked. After about an hour they reassembled it and it ran like a dream...good on you boys. I am mechanically challenged with engines. If I pulled it apart there would be bits every where and it would be extremely unlikely that it would ever work again. It would make a good anchor though...the outboard that is.
After a peaceful night sleep, the kids went ashore through the marina to stock up on supplies for the next few anchorages.
I met with the marina staff to organise a berth for a few days so we could replace our spray hood and bimini. Stella is seven years old now and was in desperate need of new covers. A company recommended by Wayne Hill was organised to meet up with us later in the week.
A short time later we up anchored and headed south for a small bay which had a floating restaurant. This would be good, expect anything.....
