Didim Marina
11 July.
As mentioned, we needed to go to Didim Marina as we had to replace our spray hood and bimini. Stella is now seven years old and the material is deteriorating. Wayne and Greta Hill from Northern Navigator had recommended Ibrahim from Royal Marine Covers.
At the same time we would quote up some Inox work (Stainless steel) and fitment of an extra 400 Watts of solar panels. At the moment we are short of our daily usage and every now and then need to charge using the motor or our portable Honda generator.
The marina itself is first class, and the staff are so helpful. At the moment they have a stay two days and get one free deal, so for tight arse yachties, that is unreal, seal the deal...
The marina has shuttle service if required, pool, beach club and a fantastic chandler. The whole complex is huge. They even have one of the marina staff turning the power pedestal on. Have you ever tried to turn on one of these things yourself. Sometimes you touch on and you get water only, or electricity only or both, and sometimes it cancels itself and you get bugger all. Further to that you can never see the LCD screen because of the sunlight...argh.
We met with Ibrahim and Adarm (Inox) to organise the quotes. The plan was to leave and return on the 19th of July and finalise the quotes for the work scope.
