Day 6 & 7
Thursday 8th and Friday 9th Sept
Tower Bridge, Queenborough to Burnham on Crouch 66miles
We left St Kats at 7.15 and re-traced our steps back down the River and into Queenborough for an overnight stay before heading off next morning for Burnham on Crouch. We had a great down wind sail just on the Genni with some very tricky navigation and a long slog up the River Crouch to the Yacht Harbour. We arrived just as it got dark and the local restaurant kindly fitted us in for supper although it was quite late.
We have been sailing together for 18 years and have owned Stiletto for 16 of them. We have exhausted the Solent and the UK South Coast and all the other usual passages: West Country, France, Channel Islands etc. that are available from our home port of Gosport. [...]We embarked on our "Slow Boat to the Med" big adventure, having sailed out of Gosport in April 2017, with our final destination being the island of Ikaria, in the Eastern Aegean - where Andreas has his family roots, before going on to explore the hundreds of other stunning Greek island locations - we could be away a while!
